August in South Dakota’s Black Hills: Theater, Nature, Livestock and Motorcycles

Take it from a local- there’s never a bad time to visit the Black Hills of South Dakota.  With native wildlife and the red canyon Badlands, historical landmarks and the ever-famous Mount Rushmore, our permanent fixtures draw crowds year-round.  And during August, the region hosts several special events that show off our unique heritage and location.  We like to claim that there are no mosquitoes west of the Missouri River; so, leave your bug spray, load up a suitcase and get out here!
